Student Bullying & Pressure

One of the major issues in schools right now, is student bullying and peer pressure to conform to what other students want. Students that are bullied are afraid to speak up, talk to parents, and or faculty. Many students are also uncomfortable sharing because they are afraid it will cause further bullying and discomfort. The idea of being a “tattle tale” or “weak” is more frightening then the bullying itself, causing the victim to feel alone, helpless, and have a low esteem. Building self-esteem is vital and crucial for students living in such a digital age. So, the next time you see a student in need find what is beneath the “why”.  As a student do not be afraid to help those at risk of your popularity, if you know deep down in your heart the student is in need.
